End of the Year Party is June 9th

I am so proud of everyone and I can't believe this is our last week together. :( Please visit me anytime in the future. I would love to hear how everyone is doing.

The party will begin around 11:30. If you would like to meet us then please find us in the courtyard (concrete area right outside my back door). We will have chalk, bubbles, wet space walk slide, dry space walk slide, and sprinklers stations set up between our class and four other kindergarten classes.

Please make sure your little one wears their bathing suit underneath their clothes. They need to have extra clothes packed in their backpacks with undergarments so they can change after water play.

Don't forget that they will not need to bring a lunch to school on June 9th. Thank you to all parents who were able to donate any of the items needed for the party. I truly appreciate each one of you. I'm so lucky to have such wonderful parents in my class.

If you have any questions please call or email me.

Eric Carle Author Study

Starting next week we will begin our author study on Eric Carle. This means we will be learning anything and everything about Eric Carle as an author and as an illustrator. We will focus on reading his books, discussing his books in depth, writing many responses to literature, and becoming artists just like Eric Carle. I can't wait to begin this author study and share our work with you. Stay tuned to find out what we learn.

Our Last Field Trip Together

Wow! I had a blast with my class at Hanna Park today. They were absolutely amazing and had a wonderful time. At Hanna Park, we played in the sand, blew bubbles, hula hooped, made sand castles, collected sea shells, and had a picnic by the lake.

Thank you to all of our chaperones! I can not believe we had 13 chaperones. I truly appreciate each one of you for taking time out of your schedule to come to the beach with us. I have the best class and parents ever!

Enjoy the pictures. :)

Reminders about the Hanna Park field trip- May 13, 2011

______*NO SWIMSUITS ALLOWED. If your child comes to school in a swimsuit (even swimming trunks for boys) then unfortunately they will be unable to attend.

______*STUDENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED NEAR THE WATER. Even if you are chaperoning on the field trip you are not allowed to take your child near the water. It is our school policy.

______*PLEASE APPLY SUNSCREEN TO YOUR CHILD BEFORE THEY COME TO SCHOOL. I am not allowed to apply sunscreen to any students. Also, chaperones are not allowed to apply sunscreen to children other than their own. Sunscreen is considered medication and teachers are not allowed to use it.

______*STUDENTS ARE ALLOWED TO BRING HATS AND SUNGLASSES. Please put your child’s name on their hat in case it is left somewhere.

______*A BAG LUNCH MUST BE PROVIDED. PLEASE PUT YOUR CHILD’S LUNCH IN THE ZIPLOC BAG PROVIDED. Lunch boxes are not allowed because they take up too much room in the cooler. The Ziploc bag will prevent a soggy lunch like a brown paper bag would.

______*PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD IS ON TIME. Students must be at school at 8:10 so that we can put on our yellow shirts, go to the restroom, and have our lunches in the cooler before the buses leave.

______*MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD HAS A SMILE AND IS READY FOR FUN ON OUR LAST FIELD TRIP TOGETHER. :)

Lions, Tigers, and Bears...Oh my!

We had such a great time at the zoo!! Thank you to all of our chaperones who came. I truly appreciate you.

At the zoo we listened to a great educational program and even got to pet a snake, bearded dragon, and rabbit. We walked around the zoo and saw as many animals as we could. Ask your little one what their favorite animal was. Enjoy the pictures!
